IP Address Geolocation Lookup

Enter any IPv4 or IPv6 address in the field above to instantly retrieve detailed geolocation and network information. The lookup is powered by the ipapi.co API, which aggregates data from multiple authoritative regional Internet registries (RIRs) and commercial databases.

What Information Is Returned?

  • Country & Region β€” The country and administrative region where the IP is registered.
  • City β€” The approximate city-level location. Accuracy varies by ISP and country.
  • ISP / Organization β€” The Internet Service Provider or organization that owns the IP block.
  • ASN (Autonomous System Number) β€” The routing identifier for the network that owns this IP. Useful for identifying hosting providers, CDNs and cloud networks.
  • Timezone β€” The likely timezone of the IP, based on geographic location.
  • Coordinates β€” Approximate latitude and longitude. Not precise to street level.

Common Use Cases

  • Verifying the real location of a VPN exit node or proxy server
  • Investigating the origin of suspicious login attempts or web traffic
  • Identifying whether an IP belongs to a hosting provider, CDN or residential ISP
  • Researching the AS number for network routing analysis
  • Checking your own IP as seen from the internet

Accuracy & Limitations

IP geolocation is accurate to country level in over 99% of cases, and to city level in approximately 80% of cases. Mobile networks and VPNs may return the location of the carrier's datacenter rather than the user's physical location. Satellite internet connections often show the satellite operator's ground station location.
